New Years Resolution. Just smile. After searches on the internet – here is what
I found.
smile
smīl/
verb
verb: smile; 3rd person present: smiles;
past tense: smiled; past participle: smiled; gerund or present
participle: smiling
A smile is a facial expression formed
by flexing the muscles
near both ends of the mouth
and by flexing muscles throughout the mouth.[1] Some smiles include contraction of
the muscles at the corner of the eyes (also known as
'Duchenne' smiling). Among humans,
it is an expression denoting pleasure,
sociability, happiness, or amusement. This is not to
be confused with a similar but usually involuntary expression of anxiety known as a grimace.
Smiling is something that is understood by everyone, regardless of culture,
race, or religion; it is internationally known. Cross-cultural studies have
shown that smiling is a means of communication throughout the world.[2] But there are
large differences between different cultures. A smile can also be spontaneous
or artificial.
We make promises. We make attempts to better
ourselves in a new year. Do we ever
promise to smile more? Do we ever say, let me focus on my smile, rather than
focusing on the things that we think will make us smile, never actually
considering that outcome but only the material thing or act that will help us
get to that end.
It occurred to me that smiling can actually
be a super hero power. We smile, it can
lift others up, and it can be a wall – a force if you will – that will stop us
from the negative energy that surrounds us.
So in this New Year, consider a smile.
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it
happened.”
